What's New in LANDCADD 2009

Plant Database | View Video (WMV) | View Video (Flash)

  • Customizing or maintaining the plant database has never been easier in LANDCADD. You can now import (or export) any of the plant data fields into the database, or quickly add plant varieties using the Copy Record command.
  • Save time in all of your projects when you predefine the 2D and 3D CAD symbols that you want to use when locating plants into your design.
  • Add custom full and detailed plant images to the database that will be used when creating the maintenance booklet.
  • Search through your database for plants that match certain criteria such as plant type, fall colors, soil conditions and water requirements, then create a plant palette that you can access through your design.

  • Draft vegetation lines or create plant outlines with fewer clicks than before.
  • Select a plant from the database and Landscape Design will now present the 2D or 3D CAD symbol associated to it so you can have more consistent presentations with fewer clicks.
  • Plant mixes now have their own unique hatch pattern so you can better illustrate planting beds or ground covers with less effort and still rely on the accuracy of the plant material count.
  • Quickly create plant palettes from a list of plants already in a design.
  • Create plant outlines or shadows easily using the new plant names selection mode.
  • If you made changes to the design, you can use the update plant table command to ensure that your plant schedule is up-to-date.

Site Planning | View Video (WMV) | View Video (Flash)

  • Improved functionality in the building footprint, windows, doors, and patio layout commands will streamline your process, giving you more time to dedicate to the design not the sitemap.
  • New bumpers functionality in the parking lots command will save time when you work on commercial design projects.
  • Set the elevation in your drawing to work on 3D models or change the elevation of your objects to a desired elevation for presentations.

Irrigation Design | View Video (WMV) | View Video (Flash)

  • With the new sprinkler heads palette, you can now set up the short list of heads that you commonly use in your designs and not have to spend the time browsing the database.
  • New intelligent zoning streamlines the zone definition process and helps you prevent missing heads. View or report the heads that are currently assigned to a zone. Includes enhanced zone report options.
  • Intelligent pipe layout with obstruction detection will speed the layout process letting you focus on improving the design rather than drafting it.
  • Check the layout for sprinklers or pipes that have no upstream connection.
  • Create an equipment table in your drawing or export it to comma or tab-delimited format to have ready access to the data for estimating purposes.
  • Import sprinkler heads into the database from a comma-delimited file format to maintain up-to-date catalogs.
  • Updated Hunter, Rainbird, and Toro catalogs.
