InfraWorks Basics Course Introduction (Course Duration: 30 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn the basics to get you started into Autodesk InfraWorks. InfraWorks is a conceptual and preliminary design tool that you can use to jump start your infrastructure projects and create professional and realistic presentations for project stakeholders to help them visualize and interpret design intent. The simple and intuitive platform interface provides easy to use, and intuitive tools for multiple design alternatives that you can explore on your projects.
This course will give you an understanding of how InfraWorks can improve your project designs, learn the User Interface, become familiar with the Contextual and Frequently used tools, and will teach you how to collaborate with others on your InfraWorks projects.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you: The Value of using InfraWorks on your Project Designs The User Interface How to leverage Contextual Tools Frequently Used Tools How to collaborate with others on your InfraWorks projects
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have the following: N/A
Tips: Turn off your phone, close your email, text and social media apps. Plug headphones or ear buds to your computer. Go Full Screen when watching videos.
Create InfraWorks Model Course Introduction (Course Duration: 25 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to create a new InfraWorks model using Model Builder, and append your model with other Data Sources. The quickest and easiest approach to create a new InfraWorks model is to use Model Builder to aggregate data from multiple sources, including OpenStreetMap’s, Microsoft Bing Maps, and USGS to establish the existing conditions. After the initial model is created, you can append the model with other data sources, like 3D Models, Raster Imagery, and ArcGIS data. Once all of the data has been aggregated into your new InfraWorks model you can use Themes to view and analyze the features and terrain.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Create a New InfraWorks Model using Model Builder Add 3D Models into your InfraWorks model Add Raster Imagery into your InfraWorks model Add ArcGIS Data into your InfraWorks model Add Terrain Themes to your InfraWorks model
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have the following: InfraWorks Basics
Create Conceptual Design Features Course Introduction (Course Duration: 35 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to add conceptual design features into your InfraWorks model. Using the Intelligent Tools, along with the extensive “out of the box” feature styles, you can add realism to your models for improved visualization and presentations. This course will cover the most commonly placed conceptual features and the teach you the tools used in InfraWorks to manipulate the features after they have been added into your model.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Add Planning Roads to your InfraWorks models Add Coverage Areas to your InfraWorks models Add Buildings to your InfraWorks models Add Trees to your InfraWorks models Add City Furniture to your InfraWorks models Add Pipelines and Pipeline Connectors Add Rivers and Water Areas to your InfraWorks models
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have the following: InfraWorks Basics Create InfraWorks Model
Road Design Course Introduction (Course Duration: 45 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to create Components Roads in InfraWorks. Component roads are assemblies of different parts, such as lanes, curbs, gutters, medians, shoulders, and sidewalks. You can add, split, delete, or modify every component and assembly in your roadway project, and save custom road assembly configurations to your Library so you can use them again. By using Components Roads you can apply Superelevation, Roadside Grading, Component Transitions, Calculate Earthwork Quantities, and display Pavement Markings.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Create Component Roads Edit Horizontal Geometry Edit Vertical Geometry Add and Modify Components Transition Components Add Superelevation Edit Roadside Grading Add and Modify Intersections Add and Modify Roundabouts Add Decorations Report Component Road Quantities
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have the following: InfraWorks Basics Creating InfraWorks Model
Civil Structure Design Course Introduction (Course Duration: 15 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to add and modify Civil Structures to Component Roads in InfraWorks. Bridges and Tunnels can be added to Component Roads using the InfraWorks library bridge components and tunnel shapes. This course will teach you how to place Civil Structures on a Component Road, and how to use the grips, manipulators, and the stack to refine your civil structure designs.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Add and Modify Bridges Add and Modify Tunnels
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have the following: InfraWorks Basics Create InfraWorks Model Road Design
Drainage Design Course Introduction (Course Duration: 25 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to use the Drainage Design tools in InfraWorks. We will cover how to create a Watershed and leverage the watershed to size culverts. You will also learn how to manually and automatically add Drainage Networks to you InfraWorks model and analyze the drainage network for catchment and pipe flows.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Create Watersheds (requires cloud credits) Add and Modify Culverts Add and Modify Drainage Networks
Create Presentations Course Introduction (Course Duration: 20 minutes)
Course Description In this course you will learn how to create a snapshot of your InfraWorks model and leverage the View Settings and Sun & Sky Settings to bring your design to life. And for a more immersive virtual experience, you will learn how to create a storyboard presentation to produce a movie that you can present to project collaborators and stakeholders.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Create Snapshots Adjust View Settings Adjust Sun & Sky Settings Create Storyboard Presentation Create Video
Exchanging Data with Autodesk Civil 3D (Course Duration: 15 minutes)
Course Description In this course you will learn how to round trip data between InfraWorks, Autodesk Civil 3D, and then back to InfraWorks for final design modeling. InfraWorks is widely used for conceptual and preliminary designs, but with the interoperability features you can more easily blend detailed designs into your InfraWorks models.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Open an InfraWorks model in Autodesk Civil 3D Import an Autodesk Civil 3D drawing into InfraWorks Export InfraWorks models to other file formats
