Modeling Driveways Course Introduction (Course Duration: 40 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn a basic and straight forward workflow to model driveways in Civil 3D along a corridor with curb and gutter. Modeling and showing driveway detail in Civil 3D corridors can be an arduous task, and oftentimes amount to more effort than what it is worth. The workflow presented in this course will leverage a custom driveway assembly that is versatile and includes many targets to override default subassembly dimensions. You will learn how to create and grade the driveway geometry using Civil 3D grading tools, which are helpful for initial grading and for refinements. Although this workflow focuses on driveway modeling, you can also apply this same workflow to curb ramps at pedestrian crossings.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Import a subassembly onto the Civil 3D Tool Palette Use a driveway subassembly to model driveways Create a Corridor with driveway grading Model driveway features along tangents and curves Grade driveway features to lower the curb height through a driveway Add offset and elevation targets to a corridor Use corridor frequencies to enhance corridor models Swap Triangles to improve surface triangulation
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have the following: Fundamental knowledge of corridor modeling in Civil 3D
