Geotechnical Modeler Fundamentals Course Introduction (Course Duration: 35 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to model subsurfaces for land development projects in Civil 3D using the Geotechnical Modeler. The Geotechnical Modeler is a Civil 3D add-on used to import borehole data and build stratum surfaces to use for downstream project tasks. Soil Boring data can be imported from multiple data sources, into a local project database, and inserted into your drawing files as Civil 3D points. Using the Geotechnical Modeler toolset, you can create 2D and 3D boreholes, display Sticklogs, build stratum surfaces, and create subsurface profiles.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Import borehole data into a drawing file Apply filters to limit borehole display Build and display stratum surfaces Create subsurface profiles and Sticklogs Display 2D Sticklogs and customize hatching Display 3D boreholes
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have the following: A general understanding of soil suitability and borehole analysis Fundamental knowledge and experience with Civil 3D.
