  • Pad Grading Fundamentals

    Pad Grading Fundamentals: Course Introduction

In this course, you will learn how to use rule-based design to grade a small site, including a building pad, parking pad, and access road. Using rule-based design allows you to create relationships with grading features to automate updates as changes occur. This includes setting pad elevations relative to a surface, creating a design profile at a given slope from another civil feature, and anchoring a design profile to an intersection of civil features. As the grading evolves, you can analyze earthwork volumes and make interactive refinements to achieve a cost-effective grading solution. This course will follow a typical design workflow that you can apply to your design products, regardless of whether you leverage the rule-based approach. The content in this course is also applicable to OpenSite and OpenRail Designer.
