Workflow Processes:

  • Create Borehole Surfaces (Geotechnical Module)

This process outlines the core tasks required to create strata surfaces from borehole data using the Autodesk Geotechnical module.

To create strata surfaces with this workflow, the boring log data must be entered into 2 separate CSV files, then imported into the project drawing. The imported boring data will automatically generate the strata surfaces, which can then be viewed and analyzed within the drawing display. 3D views along with plotted profiles of the strata surfacs can be produced.

The strata surfaces that are created in this process are produced strictly from the boring log data, with no analysis or conflict resolution to other precreated Civil 3D surfaces.

NOTE: The Autodesk Geotechnical Module is developed by Keynetix. Keynetix offers other companion products including HoleBASE SI Standard, HoleBASE SI Professional, HoleBASE SI Extension for Microsoft Excel and HoleBASE SI Extension for AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Create Borehole Surfaces (Designers Companion)

This process outlines the core tasks required to create strata surfaces from borehole data using Eagle Point’s Designers Companion.

To create strata surfaces the boring log data can be entered into a CSV file , then imported into the project drawing, or the point data can be entered into the drawing manually. The soil boring data is used to generate the strata surfaces, which can then be viewed and analyzed within the drawing display. 3D views, along with plotted profiles of the strata surfaces can be produced.

The strata surfaces that are created in this process are produced from the boring log data, but can take into consideration conflict checking with surfaces above them. Three different surface types can be used to model the soil boring surface that include parallel, absolute conflict checking, and absolute no conflict checking.
