Learning Path Courses:

  • Analysis and Optimization

    Analysis and Optimization
    (Course Duration: 31 minutes)

    Course Description
In this course, you will learn how to use the Transportation tools in InfraWorks to perform analysis and optimization on Component Roads. The Sight Distance tool allows you to analyze the passing and stopping sight distance from the driver’s vantage point so you can easily identify obstructed views from your InfraWorks model. Suitability Maps allow you to weight the cost of existing infrastructure and obstructions so you can limit and/or avoid high projects costs when optimizing your corridor designs. And Profile Optimization allows you to quickly find the most cost effective grading solution for your Component Road while adhering to design standards and criteria.

    Course Objectives
The material presented in this course teach you how to:
    Analyze the Passing Sight Distance
    Analyze the Stopping Sight Distance
Analyze the Sight Distanced through an Intersection
    Define a Suitability Map
Leverage Cloud Processing to Optimize Corridors
Leverage Cloud Processing to Optimize Profiles (requires Cloud Credits)

    Course Prerequisites
To participate in this training course, you should have completed the following:
    InfraWorks Basics Course
    InfraWorks Road Design Course

    Tips:
Turn off your phone, close your email, text and social media apps.
Plug headphones or ear buds to your computer.
Go Full Screen when watching videos.

  • Traffic Simulation

    Traffic Simulation Course Introduction
    (Course Duration: 27 minutes)

    Course Description
In this course, you will learn how to perform a Traffic Simulation on Components Roads in InfraWorks. Traffic Simulation allows you to validate existing and proposed intersection designs by analyzing traffic throughput using mathematical models. Using the built-in Traffic Analyst panel, you can customize simulations to evaluate different traffic controls and vehicle demands for your intersection. After the simulation has been modeled, you can explore different intersection designs by adding turn lanes and converting standard intersections to Roundabouts for improved functionality. This course introduces the common workflow for performing a traffic simulation on a Fixed Signal intersection.

    Course Objectives
The material presented in this course teach you how to:
    Define a Traffic Study Area
Edit Intersection Controls in Traffic Analyst
    Edit Demands in Traffic Analyst
Perform Traffic Simulations on Multiple Intersection Designs

    Course Prerequisites
To participate in this training course, you should have the following:
    InfraWorks Fundamentals Learning Path

    Tips:
Turn off your phone, close your email, text and social media apps.
Plug headphones or ear buds to your computer.
Go Full Screen when watching videos.
