In this course, you will learn how to document your cable and harness design.
Course Objectives
The material presented in this course teach you how to:
· Learn about the Report Generator and its functionality.
· Understand the process needed to create any type of Report File.
· Understand how to edit a config file to suite your needs.
· Understand the steps needed to add Table data to you 2D drawings.
· Explain how to create a Parts List for a Wire Harness Design, from the BOM database, and Harness Assemblies.
· Learn about the steps needed to create a Nail Board Drawing of your Harness Design.
· Learn how to create views, and display required property information in a 2D Drawing.
· Learn how to add Harness Dimensions and arrange the views to suit your needs.
· Understand how to create a Nail Board drawing view of a Ribbon Cable.
· Learn how to add Harness Dimensions and Connector Views to you Ribbon Cable Nail Board Drawing.
Course Prerequisites
To participate in this training course, you should have the following:

In this course, you will learn how to place electrical components into an Inventor assembly and connect components together using wires and cables.
· Understand how to place Electrical Components into a Harness Assembly, add unique properties to each occurrence, and learn about Virtual Parts and Reference Designators.
· Learn how to add individual wires to electrical components.
· Understand how to add a Cable into your Wire Harness design.
· Understand how to access the Wire Library and learn about what edits can be made.

In this course, you will be introduced to the cable and harness environment. Learn how to about the environment, how to navigate the interface, and the file and folder naming.
· Understand the capabilities of the Cable and Harness Environment in Autodesk Inventor Professional.
· Understand what type of features can be created.
· Understand how to begin a new Wire Harness design, enter the Cable and Harness Environment to begin adding electrical components, wires, cables, and virtual components.
· Understand how Inventor’s Cable and Harness Environment handle files and assemblies.
· Explain how to Control the location of where the Cable and Harness Assemblies are stored.

In this course, you will learn how to author an Inventor electrical component.
· Understand the requirements for using an Inventor Part within a Harness Assembly.
· Learn how to place pins, pin groups, and the Author process.
· Understand how to Publish your Authored Part to the Content Center, so it can be used in future Wire Harness Designs.
(Course Duration: 5 minutes)
In this course, you will learn how to create ribbon cable, control fold directions and shape of the ribbon cable around or through existing assembly geometry in an assembly.
· Understand the steps needed to create a Ribbon Cable.
· Learn how to add and edit a fold, or twist.
· Understand how to move points to define the path of the Ribbon Cable.
· Learn about how to create a Custom Ribbon Cable and save it to the Cable & Harness Library.
· Learn how to Modify the properties of the new Ribbon Cable and save it for future use in your Wire Harness Designs.
