Grading Optimization Fundamentals Course Introduction
(Course Duration: 55 minutes)
Course Description
In this course, you will learn how to use Civil 3D Grading Optimization to quickly and easily find a grading solution for your Civil 3D projects. Using typical design geometry from land development projects, you can assign grading objects with defined elevation and slope constraints to produce a proposed grade surface, targeting earthwork and smoothing objectives.
To get started with Grading Optimization you’ll need prepare your drawing by creating the design geometry that is needed to define grading objects. From there you will assign grading objects, specify constraints and parameters, then turn it over to Grading Optimization to find the best grading solution. When you are satisfied with the results, you can save them back into Civil 3D.
Course Objectives
The material presented in this course teach you how to:
Prepare your Civil 3D drawing for Grading Optimization Assign Grading Limits Assign Buildings and Reveals Assign Zones (Parking Lot, Accessible Path, Sidewalk, Other) Assign Curbs and Retaining Walls Perform Grading Optimization Assign Drain Lines and Low Points Assign Elevation Offsets Assign Aligned Edges Assign Bounded Points Send Results to Civil 3D
Course Prerequisites
To participate in this training course, you should have the following:
Completed Civil 3D Fundamentals or have equivalent knowledge of Civil 3D
