• Roundabout Design

  Roundabout Design Course Introduction
  (Course Duration: 29 minutes)

  Course Description
  In this course, you will learn how to design and grade a Roundabout intersection in Civil 3D. Autodesk’s Vehicle Tracking tools and libraries are available in Civil 3D to design Roundabouts on your design projects. This course will discuss the prerequisites for Roundabout Design, get into designing a Roundabout using a Design Standard, using the Roundabout Properties to edit a Roundabout Design, and creating a Roundabout Corridor and Surface. The videos presented in this course follow the general workflow for Roundabout Design in Civil 3D.

• Basic T-Intersection

  Basic T-Intersection Course Introduction
  (Course Duration: 28 minutes)

  Course Description
  In this course, you will learn how to use the Intersection Wizard in Civil 3D to grade out a T-Intersection. Intersection objects are created at the intersection of two design alignments. Additional target alignments are created for the lane offset and curb return alignments, along with lane slope and curb return profiles to set grades through the intersection. To create the intersection model, multiple Assemblies are used to build out a complex corridor object that includes multiple baselines and regions. To get the final grade surfaces for the intersection, Corridor Surfaces are created.

  Although this course is tailored toward a T-Intersection design, this serves as a good introduction for anyone who is getting started into any type of Intersection grading.

• Basic 4-Way Intersection

  Basic 4-Way Intersection Course Introduction
  (Course Duration: 33 minutes)

  Course Description
  In this course you will learn how to grade a 4-Way Intersection in Civil 3D, using the Intersection Wizard. The Intersection Wizard provides an intuitive and comprehensive approach to grading intersections. You will first need to understand the prerequisites that are required to use the Intersection Wizard, then determine which Intersection Assemblies are needed to grade your intersection. Once you have those details squared away you can step through the procedural dialog box to create the intersection object, create target alignments and profiles, and build the corridor model. After the initial design has been completed, you can leverage the contextual tools to update the Intersection model, as necessary. When you are finished with the design, you can create the corridor surfaces and consolidate your Corridor models.

  Course Objectives

  Create a Basic 4-Way intersection that Maintains the primary road grade
  Add Turn Lanes to an Intersection
  Create Corridor Surfaces for Intersection object

• Culdesac Design

  Culdesac Design Course Introduction
  (Course Duration: 31 minutes)

  Course Description
  In this course, you will learn how to design and grade a Culdesac in Civil 3D. There are different types of Culdesacs and approaches that you can use to design and grade a Culdesac. This course covers how to design and grade a bulb Culdesac using a single Corridor, with two Baselines. The corridor is based on the Main Road baseline, and the second baseline will be made up of the Culdesac design alignment, design profile, and assembly. When combined into a single Corridor, you’ll end up with an accurate and detailed Corridor surface. If your design changes, you’ll learn how to apply these updates to your Culdesac design.

  Course Objectives
