In this course, you will learn how to to setup a drawing in MicroStation using design models and sheet models. Once setup you will be taken through the printing and batch printing functionality as well as how to setup a project using Sheet Index. You will also learn how to export single files, and batch export multiple files to a different file format.
The material presented in this course will teach you how to:
Create a sheet model for export to AutoCAD drawing
Print sheet models
Use the sheet index to print multiple design files
Use Save as to convert a DGN to DWG
Batch export multiple Microstation design files to AutoCAD drawing files
To participate in this training course you should have the requisite knowledge on the topics covered in the course(s):

This is the introductory course to Microstation 2D drafting and does not require prerequisites, although having knowledge an experience with computer automated drafting is beneficial.
Video Duration: 66 Minutes
In this course, you will learn how to place basic geometry elements using Microstation. Foundational 2D drafting elements include lines, Smartlines, arcs, and curves. Getting experience creating these primitive 2D elements will prepare you for more advanced drafting.
Getting Started in Microstation
Video Duration: 16 Minutes
In this course, you will learn how to common and frequently used tools for manipulating elements in Microstation. Building on your knowledge of creating elements in the previous course, you’ll be introduced to the commonly used copy, move, scale, rotate, stretch, and align tools. In addition, you’ll learn frequently used tools like trim, extend, and break elements.
Creating Basic 2D Geometry
Video Duration: 21 Minutes
This course provides an in-depth exploration of AccuDraw and AccuSnap tools in MicroStation, focusing on enhancing precision and efficiency in design workflows. Participants will learn to leverage these tools to streamline their drafting processes, ensuring accurate and swift creation of complex geometries.
The material presented in this course will teach you:
How to set AccuSnap defaults, and change the running snap option for a single use.
How to leverage Multi-snaps.
How to use snaps to solve projected intersections.
About AccuDraw and how to leverage it for drafting more accurately.
How to use Smartlock with AccuDraw.
How to use the Origin tool to shift the start and end of lines.
How to change modes from rectangular to polar in AccuDraw.
Video Duration: 30 Minutes
In this course, you will learn about Levels and how to leverage them in your Microstation design files. Levels are used to organize and manage different elements within a design file. They serve a similar purpose to layers in AutoCAD. Some of the key purposes include; separating and organizing elements, control the appearance of elements, managing the visibility of elements, and managing global and view specific display.
Video Duration: 19 Minutes
This training course provides comprehensive instruction on annotation and detailing in MicroStation. Participants will learn how to effectively use annotation tools to create detailed drawings, and apply best practices for the most common and frequently used Microstation tools. This course is ideal for new users of Microstation seeking to enhance their technical drafting skills.
Leverage annotation scale to resize text, dimensions, notes, tables, and hatching
Place and edit Text and Notes
Place and edit dimensions
Place and edit Tables
Place and edit Hatches, Patterns, and Fills
Video Duration: 64 Minutes
In this course, you will learn how to leverage cells in Microstation to create reusable CAD geometry. Cells allow you to quickly and easily create commonly used CAD geometry without having to redraw every new instance. They can be created from simple and/or complex elements and include your organization’s CAD standards to make your deliverables more consistent. Cells can be used repetitively within a design file, and across all design files in your organization. This course will teach you the basics of working with cells, including how to create cells and append your cell libraries.
Manipulating Elements
Drawing with Accuracy and Precision
Video Duration: 47 Minutes
In this course, you will learn how to use references in Microstation to create design file compositions consisting of multiple external design files and raster images. Reference files play a significant role in CAD drafting, in that they allow you to federate multiple project files into a single design file. As multiple team members work on separate design files, you get the updates as they are being made. Leveraging reference files allows you to better organize your design files to alleviate excessive file size, and keep working drawings more compact and manageable.
