Workflow Processes:

  • Project Configuration

    This Process steps through the tasks that will help start a new Revit architectural project, set it up, and the initial configuration of the BIM model. These tasks will walk through:
    Selecting a template
    Managing project settings
    Creating various wall types

  • Project Setup

    The tasks in this process will guide you through:
    Adding the project information.
    Adding the project location.
    Linking the site drawing for project context.
    Specifying project and true North.

  • View Setup

    As you prepare to work in the project, it is good practice to create additional views for specific purposes. A set of cleaned up views to use for sheet production, another set to be used for regular work and another set for coordination purposes. The difference between these sets includes discipline and sub-discipline view properties, object visibility and overrides, and filters such that work is more effective and efficient.

    The tasks in this process will guide through the creation, configuration and management of plan, elevation, section and schedule views, for purposes including sheet creation, demolition plans, area plans, RCP, enlarged plans, and detailing.

  • Design Building Shell

    This process will guide the user through the construction of a building shell, including walls, roofs, windows and doors. Following this process you will place:
    Exterior walls, doors, and windows.
    Roof.

  • Design Building Interior

    This process will guide the user through the construction of the building’s interior, including walls, windows and doors.

  • Annotate Model

    The tasks in this process describe how to annotate the model by:
    Placing tags
    Creating legends
    Placing keynotes
    Placing text labels

  • Construction Details

    The tasks in this process describe how to create project details through different methods:
    By importing CAD details
    By detailing model views (floor plans, sections, elevations, etc.)
    By creating the detail directly in Revit

  • Set up Sheets

    The tasks in this process describe how to create the sheets for project documentation.

  • Rendering

    This process will guide you through the tasks and steps to prepare and setup models and views for rendering purposes.

  • Walkthrough

    This process will guide you through the tasks and steps to prepare and setup models and views for the purpose of creating a walkthrough.

  • Deliverables

    This process will guide user through the setup and settings adjustments to create project deliverables.
