  • Surface Objects

    <br />

    Course Description

    (Course Duration:  12 minutes)

    In this course, you will learn how to work with Surface object. A surface is a thin shell that does not have mass or volume. AutoCAD provides two types of surfaces: procedural surfaces and NURBS surfaces. Use procedural surfaces to take advantage of associating surfaces with their defining curves. Use NURBS surfaces to take advantage of sculpting with control vertices.

    Course Objectives

    The material presented in this course teach you how to:

    · Understand Surface modeling offers fine control over curved surfaces for precise manipulation and analysis.

    · Learn how to create non-planar surfaces in the space between edge sub-objects, splines, and other 2D and 3D curves.

    · Understand Network surfaces created with SURFNETWORK are similar to lofted surfaces in that they are created in the space between several curves in the U and V directions.

    · Learn how the Fillet command creates a filleted surface between two other surfaces.

    · Change the shape of NURBS surfaces and curves by using the 3D Edit Bar or by editing control vertices.

    · Display lines that appear on the curved surfaces of 3D solids with several visual styles including wireframe. Encompasses the display lines on both 3D solids (ISOLINES) and surfaces (SURFU, SURFV).
