• Basics of GIS

  The materials in this course allow users to learn about the very foundation of GIS. From the data to GPS, the shape of the earth to map components. These are the starting points for understanding what any GIS is built upon.

  The material presented in this course helps you gain an understanding of the following topics:
  Define GIS.
  List the six most common ways GIS is used.
  Identify common map elements.
  Describe the importance of datums.
  List commonly used coordinate systems.
  Explain how GPS provides you with coordinates.

  The materials in this course allow users to learn about data management in the ArcGIS Ecosystem. This course explains the common file types, data sources, and elements of data quality. In addition, videos within the course explain how to create and edit data within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS online.

  The material presented in this course helps you gain an understanding of the following topics:
  Explain when to use vector data.
  Explain when to use raster data.
  Describe the three data sources categories.
  Describe the benefits of proper metadata.
  List the data formats commonly used in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro.
  Explain four common techniques of good data design and management using geodatabases.
  Describe the common hosted data services used in ArcGI Online.
  Describe the data accuracy in relation to position and scale.
  Describe data accuracy in relation to time, fields, and resolution.
  Explain how to edit attribute and field data in ArcGIS Pro.
  Create and edit feature geometry in ArcGIS Pro.
  Use raster functions to edit raster data in ArcGIS Pro.
  Explain permissions with ArcGIS Online as they relate to user types, roles, and sharing.
  Edit fields and attributes for hosed feature layers in ArcGIS Online.
