    Course Description

In this course, you will learn how to use External References to attach and/or overlay other CAD files and images into your AutoCAD drawings.  With External References (XREFs), multiple drawings can be used to keep drawing files smaller and more manageable, while still being able to view up-to-date CAD geometry from other project drawings.  This is especially helpful when collaborating on projects with multiple team members, where drawing files are broken out by discipline or into even smaller subsets.   The compilation of videos presented in this course will teach you the basics of using external references, and introduce you to essential tools and settings for working with XREFs.

    Course Objectives

The material presented in this course teach you how to:

    · Attach External References

    · Attach Underlays

    · Bind an External Reference

    · Attach Images

  • Model & Sheet Viewports

Model and Sheet Viewports Course Introduction
    (Course Duration: 20 minutes)

    Course Description
In this course, you will learn how to use viewports in AutoCAD to more easily navigate your drawing files and configure your sheet layouts. Viewports allow you to have multiple views of your drawing displayed in the drawing window and on sheet layouts. Model viewports are ideal while you are working in your drawing, and the Layout viewports are used to setup model views that you want displayed on your plot sheets. The concept of viewports is similar for Model Views and Layouts, with a one clear distinction being that Layout viewports provide controls to override layer properties and visibility for individual viewports. The compilation of videos presented in this course will help you understand model space and paper space, and teach you the tools for creating viewports in both drawing file environments.

    Course Objectives
The material presented in this course teach you how to:
    Leverage Model and Layout Viewports
    Work with Model Viewports
    Use the View Manager
    Create Layout Viewports
    Work with Layout Viewports
    Use Layout Viewport Overrides
Change objects between Model and Paper Space
