In this course we are going to cover the vertical design of a roundabout. The vertical design of a roundabout begins with the development of the central island and approach roadway profiles. The development of each profile is an iterative process that involves tying the elevations of the approach roadway profiles into a smooth profile around the central island. Since this is an iterative process and can be very time consuming we will only show the step by step details for one approach in this course.
