Start New Project
To get started into InfoDrainage you need to create a project. Start by establishing the working folder, along with the subfolders to use for organizing the project data. Create Drainage Network
To create a drainage network in InfoDrainage you can manually place drainage features or import from a file. When using the "manual approach" to place drainage features, you can trace over CAD geometry that you've imported into your InfoDrainage project, or freely pick the junction locations over top of an aerial image. Although both are viable options, you may find it much quicker and easier to sketch your layout in CAD, then import into InfoDrainage so you can snap to the connections. Perform Drainage Analysis
Now that the drainage system has been laid out, you can perform an analysis and design of the pipes in the drainage network. This process starts by defining the rainfall events you want to analyze, which can be done using the tables provided in InfoDrainage, or can be user-defined. Once the storm events are established you can define a flow path and size the pipes and junctions within the flow path. Add Stormwater Controls
Add the Stormwater Controls(SWCs) to your drainage system. InfoDrainage supports a number SWCs, including Bioretention, Cellular Storage, Chamber, Infiltration Trench, Pond, Porous Paving, Dry Well, Swale, and Tank. This process provides guidance on creating a phase, adding a bioretention, adding a pond with a swale, and analyzing the stormwater controls.
