Import Survey Data Course Introduction (Course Duration: 28 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to use the Survey Database in Civil 3D to import and edit Survey Points and Figures. The Survey Database resides outside of the drawing and is used to process raw field data and/or point coordinate files. When importing Survey Data via the Survey Database, you can perform adjustments on the raw survey data and auto-generate linework that was coded during field collection. Living inside the Survey Database, the points and linework can be replicated in all project drawings, as read-only points and survey figures that can be used to create the Existing Ground surface.
AIA (USA) Accredited Course: ISD001 Import Survey Data (1 LU)
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Set the Working Folder for the Survey Database Create a Local Survey Database Import a Point File to place Survey Points and Figures Edit Survey Points Edit Survey Figures Create Surface from Survey Data
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have completed: Civil 3D Fundamentals (Learning Path) Civil 3D Overview (Course) Points, Lines, and Curves course (Course) Surfaces (Course)
Tips: Turn off your phone, close your email, text and social media apps. Plug headphones or ear buds to your computer. Go Full Screen when watching videos.
Coding Survey Figure Course Introduction (Course Duration: 25 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to code Survey Figures to auto-generate linework to display site topography and create existing condition surfaces. Survey Linework can be coded in the field or when processing the survey data into your drawing. The codes defined in the Linework Code Set, along with Figure Prefixes, can be used in Point Descriptions to draw basic linework, add curves, and construct simple shapes. Whether your job is to collect the survey or process your organization’s survey files, this course will teach you how to automate the processing of survey linework in your drawings.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Setup the Figure Prefix Database and Linework Code Set Code Survey Figures to start, stop, and end. Code curves on Survey Figures Close Survey Figures
Course Prerequisites To participate in this training course, you should have completed: Civil 3D Fundamentals (Learning Path) Civil 3D Overview (Course) Points, Lines, and Curves course (Course) Survey Essentials (Learning Path) Import Survey Data (Course)
Traverse Analysis Course Introduction (Course Duration: 25 minutes)
Course Description In this course, you will learn how to perform a traverse analysis and adjustment in Civil 3D. Data imported from a Field Book file can be analyzed and adjusted in the Survey Database to correct instrument errors and/or blunders that resulted in the data collection processes. Horizontal and Vertical adjustments can be calculated using multiple methods, include; Compass Rule, Transit Rule, Crandall Method, and Least Squares.
COGO points that are imported via a coordinate file or manually placed can be horizontally adjusted using the Traverse Editor. Many of the same adjustment options are available for the COGO point analysis and adjustment.
Course Objectives The material presented in this course teach you how to: Import a Field Book File with Observations and Side Shots. Perform a Traverse Analysis on data imported using a Field Book file. Perform a Least Squares Analysis on data imported via a Field Book file. Balance and Adjust a Traverse using the Traverse Editor.
